My fee for a 50-minute session is $90. I am also credentialed, or in network, with over 100 managed care/insurance companies (for example, Aetna, Medicare, Medicaid, Magellan, Beacon Health Options, Beacon Health Strategies, Cenpatico, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Ambetter, Sendero, and UnitedHealthcare/UBH) and EAPs, employee assistance programs. I do not work with CompPsych.
If you are employed, I recommend you contact your Human Resources office to ask if your employer offers EAP/employee assistance program benefits for employees. These are free sessions, anywhere from 2-10 per year or per issue, for each employee, and often for the employee's family members. If the issue is short-term, it can often be dealt with using your EAP sessions. If longer-term work is needed, you can then switch to your insurance benefits, which require a co-pay, usually $10-$40 with anywhere from 20 to unlimited sessions per year. Some plans also include a joint medical/behavioral health deductible. In addition, insurance companies require a diagnosis and I am licensed to make that assessment. I will, however, discuss my diagnosis with you before documenting it on an insurance claim.
If I am not on your insurance panel and you want to use your insurance, I will provide you with a receipt, including a diagnosis, so you may file and be reimbursed for a considerable portion of my fee. Some clients, also, do not want a mental health diagnosis on file with their insurance company. In that case, they choose to pay my hourly fee directly and not use their mental health insurance benefits.
